Saturday Night Derby (times two)

As sometimes happens in the wild, fast-paced world of Kansas City roller derby, this Saturday night holds more flat track action than one fan can digest in a single evening. That is to say, unless you can be in two places at once, you’re going to have to make a choice.

But it happens, and we’re always here to keep you abreast of all the goings-on in this phenomenal sport. This Saturday night is going to be amazing.

Fountain City Roller Derby’s 2017 Season Opener

The incredible house teams of FCRD kick off Season 8 this Saturday night at B&D Skate Center with their home opener, Revenge of the Nerds.

The games begin at 6:00 p.m. Adults are $12, and kiddos 12 and under are admitted free. The Royal Pains take on the Shotgun Sheilas, and the 2016 Fountain City Champion Lovely Lethals will face off against the Deadly Sirens.

The Kansas City Roller Warriors Bout 2

Also taking place Saturday night, the ladies of KCRW continue their exciting 2017 season with Bout 2, and if it’s anything like Bout 1 a couple of weeks ago, we’re all in for quite a treat.

The dreaded Dreadnought Dorothys take on the inimitable Knockouts to kick the evening off. Immediately following, the reigning champions, the Victory Vixens, face off against the black and yellow of the Black Eye Susans.

Doors open at Memorial Hall at 5:00, and the first bout begins at 6:00 sharp. Adult tickets at the door are $15, kids ages 6-12 are $9, and kiddos 5 and under are admitted free, as always.

KC Derby Digest will be covering this Kansas City Roller Warriors event, and our good friends over at Zaftig Unicorn Photography will be covering the action over at Fountain City.

Wherever you are Saturday night… roll on, Kansas City!
