How did you first discover Fountain City, and what has kept you going?
“I believe I heard about recruitment through a friend who started at the same time. I had never even seen a bout before I started playing. My teammates and coaches keep me going, and the desire to do better every game. It’s such a thrill to see the improvement I’ve made from when I started and could barely skate.”

Describe the origin of your derby name.
“It’s a reference to Edgar Allan Poe. ‘The Murders in the Rue Morgue’ is a short story of his.”

Who inspires you on the track?
So many people — Tenacious V for always pushing and helping me. Lady Killshot, Lone Rager, Zombina, all of my teammates and coaches. I love Coach Arp‘s amazing pep talks.”

How has roller derby changed your life?
“Roller derby has helped give me more confidence in myself, given me amazing friends and a wonderful support group of people who push me to be better and have fun doing it. I feel very lucky to be a part of this league.”
