This is one of those weekends, derby fans, when you’ve kind of got your pick when it comes to the flat-track action going on in and around the Kansas City area. As always, we’re here with the details.
The Kansas City Roller Warriors host Game 4 of their 2015 season tomorrow night, and it’s their last bout at Municipal Auditorium before the coveted Rink of Fire on June 27th. There are a couple of underground bouts between now and then, but we’ll get to those later.
Doors open at 5:00. The first game begins at 6:00 and features the fearsome Dreadnought Dorothys taking on the Victory Vixens. Immediately following, the no-longer-winless Black Eye Susans square off against the Knockouts in what is sure to be a fantastic contest between these two teams, as they always seem to bring out the best in each other anytime they face off on the track. We will see you trackside for this outstanding event at Municipal.
The Kansas City Junior Roller Warriors will be playing a halftime bout as well tomorrow night, so be sure to check out these little ladies, as they represent the future of this outstanding league. Tickets at the door are $18 for adults, $9 for kids ages 6-12, and as always, rugrats 5 and under are admitted free.
If you’re closer to the St. Joseph area and/or just haven’t found the time to make a Blacksnake Rollergirls event this season, this is the perfect opportunity to do so. The BRGs are hosting A Bout to Remember, an Ugly Prom double-header event at the St. Joseph Civic Arena that will kick off with the Rushin’ Rollettes taking on the Danger Dolls.
Then, in an interesting twist, the Jesse Janes and Venomous Vixens join forces in a mash-up against the visiting Benton County Derby Dames in game two of the evening’s festivities.
You can buy advance tickets online at Brown Paper Tickets, which is the best way to go, and they’re $10 for adults and $5 for kids. Tickets will also be available at the door for a slightly higher price.
